Penny Sakamoto
Penny Sakamoto is group publisher for Black Press-Greater Victoria, leading a team of about 65 staff and approximately 1,200 newspaper carriers. She graduated from journalism school in Winnipeg and has spent her career in the newspaper business in Canada and the U.S. She served as president of the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Association and on the board of the Canadian Community Newspaper Association. In 2008, Sakamoto was awarded the Silver Quill Award for more than 25 years of distinguished service to the industry. Sakamoto works out of the Broughton Street office in downtown Victoria.

Pamela Roth
A journalist for more than 12 years experience, she has built her career as a writer and editor developing engaging content for newspapers, online publications and magazines. A graduate of the Journalism Arts program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, Roth began her career as a community newspaper reporter at the Western Wheel in Okotoks, Alberta then specialized as a court and crime reporter with the Lethbridge Herald. After Lethbridge, Roth joined the Regina Leader-Post as a general news reporter and for the past five years has been the crime reporter at the Edmonton Sun where she became we known for her investigative features. Her first book, based on true crime, is slated to hit shelves in the fall

Mike Cowan
Mike Cowan brings over 25 years of experience to his position, including sales and management roles with the Edmonton Journal, ADitus, Hollinger Newspaper Group, The Globe and Mail, and the Vancouver Sun and Province. Mike has built his career by identifying emerging trends, developing new revenue streams and successfully building dynamic sales teams which have produced some of Canada's top advertising representatives. Prior to joining Black Press he was vice president of sales and marketing for Kirk Marketing. With a focus on delivering superior service and value for Black Press clients, Mike is dedicated to forging lasting relationships that will ensure success for clients and staff alike.
Kendra  Wong Reporter
Kendra Wong
Kendra is a journalist from Vancouver. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a double major in English and Communications in 2011 and she decided to pursue her passion for journalism. After earning her certificate in journalism from Langara College, she completed internships at Metro Vancouver newspaper, Global TV and CKNW radio station in the Lower Mainland. Prior to coming to Victoria, Kendra was a community reporter with the Smithers Interior News in Northern B.C.

Don Denton is the photo supervisor for Black Press' Greater Victoria newspapers and magazines, including Boulevard, Monday and Tweed. He currently teaches night courses in photography through the continuing studies department at at the University of Victoria.
