Victoria businessman facing fraud charges

A Victoria businessman was arrested last week on multiple fraud charges. Pavel Zika came to Victoria police's attention when several complaints came in within about four days, said Det. Rick Anthony with the financial crimes section. Anthony said Zika is suspected of frauds relating to his Victoria businesses – including Café Boulevard in the Best Western Carlton Plaza Hotel. He also owns two other companies – Soho Boutiques Ltd. and Heywood Trading Co.Zika was arrested July 15 and charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000, one count of fraud under $5,000 and one count of attempted fraud over $5,000.He is also wanted by Interpol for fraud and counterfeiting charges stemming from Prague.Anthony said he expects more complaints about Zika to come forward in the next few days.
