The City of Victoria is looking to get residents in a festive mood with a selection of free holiday-themed workshops.

A partnership between the city and the Bay Centre will see these workshops offered over two weekends in November as part of Victoria’s Our DWTN revitalization program.

The first workshops are holiday card making, taking place Saturday, Nov. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 19, with three workshops each day. During these one-hour sessions, participants will create their own printmaking design and up to eight personalized holiday cards. The workshop is facilitated by artist Valerie Salex and includes step-by-step, beginner-paced instructions.

The second weekend (Nov. 25 and 26) will see residents create holiday wreaths during four sessions each day. These one-hour workshops, facilitated by The Good Party, will walk participants through creating a 12-inch evergreen wreath.

All workshops take place at the Bay Centre, 1150 Douglas St., on the second level next to the Victoria Market Collective.

Forty spots are available per workshop but pre-registration is required on a first-come, first-served basis. Complimentary hot apple cider and all of the supplies will be provided. To learn more or to register, go to victoria.ca/ourdwtn.
