Eat Out program supports AIDS-Vancouver Island
Going out for dinner next Thursday can also benefit a good cause in Victoria.
Next week is the sixth annual edition of Dining Out for Life, where 25 per cent of food sales from 65 Greater Victoria restaurants will go to AIDS Vancouver Island’s programs to prevent and treat instances of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C.
“Diners can easily make a huge impact on the lives of so many in need in our community simply by going out to dinner on March 24,” said Katrina Jensen, executive director of AVI.
People can help further by buying Stella Artois beer at the participating restaurants – the company will donate $1 from every beer sold that day to AVI.
In its first five years, the event has raised $120,000.
Diners can also enter a draw at participating restaurants to win a two-person ocean cruise.
