Esquimalt hosts scenic community walk
Lace up your sneakers and top up your water bottles for Esquimalt's second annual Fun and Fit Walk.
The community event, open to walkers of all ages and abilities, spans two 2.5-kilometre loops that allow participants to enjoy the sights of Saxe Point and Macaulay Point parks.
The start and finish lines are at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre, 527 Fraser St.
The event, which includes an active-living marketplace, refreshments and door prizes, happens Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to noon. Early bird registration before Sept. 6 costs $12 for adults, $4 for children and families pay $18. After that, adults pay $16, children are $6 and families pay $22.
