Victoria Oddfellows hand out bursaries
The International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), Victoria, has awarded bursaries to help four talented and deserving students pursue their educational goals.
The scholarships are worth $700 to each student for enrolment expenses.
The Frank Wallace Memorial Bursary was awarded to Ellen Martin from Colwood who is studying arts and sciences at Camosun College with an interest in veterinary sciences.
The Richard White Memorial Bursary went to Kaeli Sort from Esquimalt who is a fourth-year University of Victoria student studying child and youth care.
And the Jessie Cormack Memorial Bursary was awarded to Jessica Waddell from Victoria who will be attending the Canadian Institute of Chinese Medicine in Calgary.
An additional bursary was given to Molly Jane Grant from Fernwood. Grant has completed her bachelor degree at University of Victoria and will be getting her master’s in Media Arts at the University of B.C.
The bursaries are made possible through the joint efforts of the IOOF, Victoria Lodge No. 1, Unity Rebekah Lodge No. 145 and Columbia Lodge No. 2.
The IOOF Victoria is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
