Volunteers earned recognition for work from five to 35 years

Oak Bay Volunteer Services celebrates its 40th anniversary with lunch at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, Sports View lounge.

About 100 people including MLA Andrew Weaver, Mayor Nils Jensen and other dignitaries attended the hot lunch and annual general meeting.

The day honoured funders with 11 representatives from diverse organizations such as Island Health, Victoria Foundation, Kiwanis Club of Oak Bay and more.

Oak Bay Volunteer Services honoured founders, inviting representatives from the organization’s early days. Volunteers earned 5, 10, 15 and 20 year pins with special awards for three volunteers for 25 years, one at 30 years and one at 35 years.
