Buddha sculpture offers different take
According to artist Dallas V. Duobaitis, his “Buddha of Dissonance” is a "sculptural shrine comparing the futility of culturally sacred imagery and icons within a post industrial economy surrounded in abundance and copyrights, that both provides and equally denies."
The piece will be featured at the Ministry of Casual Living, 1442 Haultain St., starting with an opening Saturday, Aug. 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. Drinks and light refreshments will be served.
The Buddha will be on display until Sept. 2.
