Priestley to star in Canadian comedy series
By Etan Vlessing
TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) - Jason Priestley will star in the Canadian TV comedy "Meet Phil Fitz."
Priestley will play the title character, a used-car salesman walking a fine line of acceptable behavior on the lot alongside a new salesman, do-gooder Larry, who becomes his alter-ego.
"You don't often have a chance to get paid to be morally bankrupt," Priestley said in a statement.
The edgy half-hour series for domestic pay TV networks Movie Central and the Movie Network is to shoot in Halifax, Nova Scotia and debut in 2010. It's produced by indie companies E1 Entertainment, Amaze Film and Television and Big Motion Pictures.
Sheri Elwood ("Defying Gravity") wrote the script for the comedy and will executive produce the series.
