Saanich grad season in full swing
’Tis the season when Saanich students who have spent 13 years in the education system celebrate their journey with graduation festivities.
Prepare to see caps and gowns, tuxes and dresses throughout your neighbourhood in the coming month as the nine Saanich schools honour their grads.
Here’s a rundown of when each school will celebrate.
Mount Douglas secondary hosted its formal grad ceremony earlier this week, as 285 students walked across the stage. The dinner dance happened last weekend.
Reynolds secondary’s grad ceremony happens tonight (Friday) at the University Centre. Tomorrow night the school’s 230 grads dress to the nines for their dinner dance.
Lambrick Park secondary’s 136 grads partake in their formal ceremony next Friday (June 6). They then have to wait until Monday, June 23 for their grad banquet.
Some 145 Grade 12 students from St. Michaels University School will be honoured at a formal grad ceremony on Sunday, June 15. The dinner dance celebrations happen on Friday, June 20.
St. Margaret’s School has a grad class of 63 girls this year. They have a formal graduation ceremony on Sunday, June 22, and a dinner dance will follow.
Spectrum Community School’s nearly 300 grads have a long day on Tuesday, June 24. The grad recognition ceremony comes first at 5 p.m., and the dinner dance and dry grad festivities follows.
St. Andrews Regional High school students wear their caps and gowns for their graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 25, while the next night the school’s 72 grads put on their formal wear for dinner dance and after grad festivities.
Claremont secondary also has a full day of grad events, as the recognition ceremony, banquet and dry grad all happen on Thursday, June 26. That school anticipates 277 Grade 12 students will graduate.
Pacific Christian School honours its 87 graduates at a ceremony on Thursday, June 26. The celebration happens the same night.
