Belmont dancers host winter show

Prepare to get revved up for the holiday season with the dancers from Belmont secondary school.

About 70 students from Belmont's dance academy and dance classes are hosting their winter recital, Dec. 18.

The show will include jazz, hip hop, lyrical and Broadway dances to songs including Just a fool, A-Team and I love it.

"This is a great way to bring this into the community," said Leanne Harrington, dance academy teacher. "This is a positive connection the kids are making in the community."

There are 40 students in the dance academy and 30 who take the dance elective courses at the school.

The Belmont Dance Winter Show is Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. in the north gym at Belmont secondary school, 3067 Jacklin Rd., Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Admission to the show is by donation and non-perishable food donations are being accepted for the Goldstream Food Bank.
