Geeks and Geezers tackle technology in Metchosin

Four teens are helping seniors decipher technology.

Computers are on site for the Geeks and Geezers program at the Metchosin Seniors Information Resource Centre, but participants can also bring their own laptop, iPhone or other portable device they have questions about.

"Often they come asking questions about how to email pictures of their grandchildren or how to sort and organize their files," said Colleen Brownlee, centre co-ordinator.

The youth volunteer their time and the program is funded by a federal New Horizon for Seniors Program grant.

The program is offered weekly with varying times.

The next session is Jan. 22 from 7 to 9 p.m.  at the Metchosin SIRC, 4495 Happy Valley Rd. For more information call Brownlee at  250-478-5150.
