Garrison receives NDP nod in Esquimalt Juan de Fuca

Garrison gets

NDP backing

Esquimalt Coun. Randall Garrison has been acclaimed as the NDP candidate in the federal Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca riding.

As the only candidate approved for possible nomination, party members still needed to agree on his candidacy at an NDP nomination meeting at the Archie Browning Sports Centre in Esquimalt on Sunday. They did so unanimousely.

NDP leader Jack Layton also addressed the 120 party members in attendance.

In the event a federal election is called, the Esquimalt resident will hit the campaign trail – his third time after attempting to become the riding’s MP in 2004 and 2006.
