VicPD crime map popularity grows

Since Victoria police launched their updated crime mapping tool last week, interest has boomed.

VicPD's Crime Reports site, which shows what kinds of crimes have happened where, has had 9,000 daily page views since its launch March 31. Some of that is from the public, but police supervisors use the tool as well.

Almost 800 people have signed up for e-mail crime alerts in their neighbourhoods.
