Shoppers assaulted; two men arrested
Two women shopping excursion at Mayfair Mall on Thursday was interrupted when two men allegedly tried to assault them.
One man allegedly tried to kick one woman, barely missing her, then pushed her into a display kiosk.
Minutes later, at 7:30 p.m. a woman called police from a bus stop outside the Robin Hood Motel on Gorge Road – she reported two men tried to steal her boyfriend’s cellphone and cash, and when he refused, they hit him.
Officers arrested two suspects – Trevor Marten, 20, and Orion McCarthy, 19 – in a room at the motel. Both are charged with assault and robbery; Marten is also charged with one count of breaching court orders and McCarthy received four such charges.
