Victoria police hunt for sex offender

High-risk sex offender Roger Badour is on the loose.

Victoria cops say he is very dangerous and are asking the public for information that will help them capture Badour, 62, and put him behind bars again.

Roger BadourWanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant for violating parole conditions, Badour has a lengthy criminal history including sexual assault with a weapon and forcible confinement, VicPd warn he is a sex offender who could attack again.

That's why police took the precaution of putting out a public warning that he is dangerous when Badour was relocated here in January to serve out his parole.

Police say he targets and befriends "socially vulnerable" single women.

Badour has been on the run for six months and was last seen on April 29 in the 500-block of Johnson Street.

At the time he disappeared, he was serving a seven-year sentence for sexual assault.

Because of Badour's violent past, police don't want the public to do anything other than let them know where he is. Badour is white, has medium length grey hair and blue eyes, stands five-foot-eight, weighs 175 lbss and has a tattoo of a heart on his left shoulder.

Just call us if you see him or know where he is, said VicPd High Risk Offender Detective Shawn Robinson who can be reached at 250-995-7233.
