It’s always sad when the greater community loses an individual who has given of their time to help make things better for others.

Dr. Basil Boulton, who passed away at age 69 after an accident at home on Thursday, was just such a man. A dedicated man of medicine and an equally dedicated councillor for the Town of Esquimalt, Boulton was a cheerleader for his community and a tireless volunteer who kept a special place in his heart for children and seniors.

For reflections on his passing and community reaction, see page A8 and page A10.
