Boxing Day stabbing sends one man to hospital

A 50-year-old Victoria man suffered minor stab wounds after an altercation inside his suite at the Plaza Hotel on Monday at 9:30 p.m.

"We had several patrol units attend along with our canine unit," said Victoria police spokesperson, Const. Mike Russell. "They identified a few suspects who were believed to be related to the incident."

One man was taken into custody and later released. A woman was also taken into custody, but for a separate unrelated matter.

The man who was allegedly stabbed at the Plaza Hotel, located at 603 Pandora Ave., was taken to hospital, but released soon after.

All three individuals are known to police and knew one another, Russell said, adding that it is too early in the case to know whether charges will be laid.
