Stabbing in Esquimalt sends man to hospital
An 18-year-old Esquimalt woman was arrested by Victoria police following a stabbing in Esquimalt early Wednesday morning.
Investigators arrived at an apartment suite in the 800-block of Craigflower Rd. around 2 a.m. They found a 22-year-old Esquimalt man suffering from a serious stab wound to his leg.
The suspect and several other people were also in the suite, Victoria police spokesperson, Const. Mike Russell said in a statement.
The woman was taken into police custody. The man was taken to hospital, and has since been released.
"Detectives do not believe that the public is at risk," Russell said.
Both the suspect and alleged victim are known to police, and know each other. However, Russell was not able to explain the nature of their relationship.
