Victoria hosting presentation on city tax policies

Tax policy buffs and others are invited to Victoria City Hall for a presentation Tuesday (March 27) entitled Distribution of Property Taxes Among Tax Classes.

Peter Adams, of the Victoria Consulting Network, has completed a review of Victoria’s property tax policies and will present information of interest to city residents, property owners, and business owners.

The presentation explores ways for local governments to shift the burden of property taxes between the various classes of property. His presentation outlines his conclusions specific to Victoria.

Adams is a professional economist with more than 25 years of experience dealing with taxation issues, and has worked for the B.C. Chamber of Commerce, the Union of B.C. Municipalities and the provincial government. He has extensive experience conducting reviews of property tax policies and trends.
