Victoria senior pulled from her vehicle in attempted carjacking

A Victoria senior is shaken but unhurt after a man threw her to the ground and attempted to steal her car Friday night.

The woman had parked on the west side of the 1400-block of Vancouver St. when a man approached and pulled her from the driver's seat around 6:30 p.m.

She was thrown to the ground, and after the man was unable to start the vehicle, he fled on foot.

The suspect is described as white or possibly First Nations, between 5'8 and 5'11 with dark eyes and short cropped hair.

He was wearing a grey toque, black leather jacket, a black sweatshirt and grey pants at the time of the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact the non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
