Victoria MP candidates to discuss housing at morning meeting

The six candidates for the Victoria federal byelection will come together to discuss affordable housing next week.

The Nov. 15 public meeting is hosted by the Victoria Real Estate Board and gets underway at 8 a.m. at the Ambrosia Conference and Event Centre, 638 Fisgard St.

Topics up for discussion include creating tax incentives to encourage rental housing construction, development of a national housing strategy, increasing financial support for transitional housing and improving the national home buyers plan to assist first time home buyers.

The six candidates are Donald Galloway (Green), Dale Gann (Conservative), Murray Rankin (NDP), Paul Summerville (Liberal), Art Lowe (Libertarian Party) and Philip Ney (Christian Heritage Party).

Attendees for the meeting are asked to register in advance, as seating is limited.
