Children robbed near Hillside Mall

Two 11-year-old girls were robbed yesterday afternoon while walking home from Hillside Mall.

The girls were approached in the 2800-block of Gosworth Rd. by a man and a woman, both in their mid-20's.

The suspects threatened the girls and demanded their cellphones and backpacks.

After turning over their property, the girls ran home and called police.

The suspects are both described as Caucasian and were wearing all black clothing at the time of the robbery. The man also had a hood covering his head, police said.

The woman is thought to be five-foot-six, with shoulder-length dark hair.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call VicPD at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
