Elderly woman dies after being hit by public works truck

A 75-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries last night after being hit by a Saanich public works truck.
The woman was struck as she crossed Douglas Street at Discovery Street at around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, said VicPD.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics and doctors, the woman did not survive the night.
VicPD’s collision team spent hours analyzing the scene of the accident, and seized the public works truck for mechanical inspection.
