Weekend robberies lead to two arrests
Victoria Police officers were quick to stop a robbery spree in the area of Quadra Street and Hillside Avenue Saturday morning.
Around 1 a.m., two youth entered a Mac's convenience store and robbed the lone clerk at knifepoint. The males made off with cash and cigarettes.
Minutes later, the same duo attempted to rob a 22-year-old man who was entering his residence on Blanshard Street.
Fortunately, a VicPD cruiser was driving by to respond to the previous robbery and witnessed the incident.
Officers gave chase on foot and apprehended the suspects.
Two 17-year-old males are facing charges of robbery with a weapon and assault with a weapon.
