Mayfair mall hit by jewelry thieves

Jewelry worth thousands of dollars was stolen last night in a brazen break and enter at The Bay at Mayfair shopping centre.

VicPD was called to the mall at 11:30 p.m. after the alarm was triggered.

Officers arrived within minutes and found that a door to The Bay had been forced open and numerous jewelry cases had been emptied.

A VicPD K9 team was called and attempted to track the individuals to no avail, while a Saanich Police K9 team performed a search inside the store.

VicPD Detectives continue to investigate and are requesting anyone who may have information to call the VicPD report line at 250-995-7654 or anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
