Saanich police seeking cigar thief
Saanich police are looking for a man who broke through the glass door of a Chevron gas station this week and made off with $800 worth of cigars and smokeless tobacco products.
The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on Feb. 12. Damage to the gas station door is estimated at more than $1,000.
A police dog unit couldn't track the suspect, who may have used a vehicle to flee the scene.
Video surveillance from the gas station, located in the 3500-block of Shelbourne St., identified the suspect as a white man with a medium build and approximately 6 feet tall. He was wearing a three-quarter length puffy hooded coat, dark pants, black and white running shoes, and a dark-coloured balaclava.
Police are asking anyone with information about this crime to call 250-475-4321 or 1-800-222-8477.
