California fugitives arrested in Greater Victoria
Two California fugitives were arrested by VicPD this week and handed over to the Canadian Border Service Agency for likely deportation.
Dustin Ilar and Daniel Mota were arrested March 2 after the California Fugitive Apprehension Team contacted VicPD on a tip the wanted felons were living in Esquimalt.
Ilar was arrested at an apartment in the 400-block of Lampson St., while Mota was arrested in the 2900-block of Jutland Rd.
On a Sacramento, Cali. fugitive website, Ilar is listed as a wanted felon for parole violation and has previous convictions for firearms possession.
The two men had entered Canada illegally and will now face a deportation hearing, said Const. Mike Russell.
