Nearly Nude PETA supporters shower for their cause

Noon hour pedestrians and passing traffic on Douglas Street outside the Bay Centre got a surprise Friday as local PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) supporters Emily Lavender, L, and Amy Balcome drew attention to their cause with a nearly naked shower on the sidewalk.

PETA says that the meat industry causes environmental problems including water shortages and that going vegan is a simple way to conserve water , save the environment and stop animal suffering.

The shower stall was not operational but the two young women got wet and soaped up from buckets of water despite the wind and chilly temperatures.
