West Shore RCMP make pair of pot busts

West Shore RCMP Street Crime Unit scored twice yesterday (April 24).

Officers started the day targeting a man they say acts as a middle man for a pot dealer in the Capital Region. Police arrested a 32 year-old man  in the parking lot next to the West Shore detachment and seized a half-pound of marijuana.

At 4:30 p.m. officers targeted a 32 year-old Sooke man they believe supplied marihuana to youth in the West Shore area. RCMP said the man holds a medical marijuana production and possession license. At the time of the arrest the suspect had a pound of pot in his possession. Police plan to recommend charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
