Fire destroys shed in rural Saanich

Fire destroyed a shed yesterday evening in the 4000-block of Holland Ave., a rural area near Helmcken Road.

Saanich fire responded at 5.40 p.m. with 10 firefighters and four vehicles and found a shed fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews set up a defensive attack to keep the fire from spreading.

Nobody was injured and damage to the shed and contents is estimated at $10,000. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
