When 55-year-old Wayne Gerber realized through the media, his family had reported him missing, he reported to the Oak Bay police department.

The Oak Bay Police had requested the help of the public in locating the man who had told family members he was going camping on June 13 but didn’t tell them where he was headed. He had not been heard from since.

"Oak Bay Police wish to thank the various media organizations that fanned out the missing person report," said Chief Mark Fisher.
