Fatal car crash in Esquimalt prompts police investigation

A 56-year-old man died this morning after police found him in severe medical distress following a car crash.

The man's vehicle ran off the road around 7:25 a.m. at the intersection of Craigflower and Tillicum Roads.

The preliminary investigation indicates a "medical concern" as the cause of the crash, according to a Victoria police statement.

The man's name won't be released until his family is notified of the incident.
