The Victoria Police Department seized more than $13,000 and 16 ounces of crack cocaine after executing a search warrant in the 1600-block of Hawthorne St. in Saanich last week.

The month-long investigation dismantled a dial-a-dope operation that covered Greater Victoria, said Sgt. Lance Philip of VicPD's Strike Force section.

“Breaking up a dial-a-dope ring at this level will certainly send a message to others hoping to set up shop here," Philip said.

A 31-year-old Saanich man was arrested and released pending charges.
