Esquimalt sailor dies in Tanzania

A sailor attached to HMCS Regina died in hospital in Tanzania yesterday, the Department of  National Defence says.

The crewman was en route to Canada for a scheduled leave period from the ship, which is currently sailing in the Indian Ocean. The circumstances surrounding this death are unknown at this time.

The name of the deceased is not being released at the request of the family.
