Police, family in Sidney trying to find Mikayla Savage
Sidney North Saanich RCMP has issued a second appeal for the public's help in tracking down a missing teen from Sidney.
Mikayla Savage, 17, has not been seen by her family since May 19 and has not made contact with her family since May 22.
According to police, her absence is out of the ordinary. She was observed in the company of pan handlers on the Saanich Peninsula and may be in the company of a male with a white Pitbull terrier, believed to be named Popeye.
Police have received indications of possible sightings ranging from Victoria to the Okanagan. In a media release, the RCMP state Savage may also be traveling willingly with a companion and not in need of assistance.
"If this is the case," said the RCMP, "the Sidney North Saanich RCMP would like to speak with Mikayla to confirm her safety."
She is a Caucasian female, five feet tall and around 90 pounds with brown hair that were, when last seen, in dreadlocks. She may also be in possession of a backpack and a guitar.
Anyone with information about Mikayla Savage's current location is asked to call Constable Kevin Shaw at 250-656-3931 or their local police department.
