The Downtown Victoria Business Association has issued a request for proposals for the production of Car Free YYJ 2016 on June 19.

The first annual Car Free YYJ was held last June with an estimated 20,000 people taking in the festival on six blocks of Douglas Street from Herald to Fort Street.

Car Free YYJ 2015 hosted more than 200 vendors, three stages with programmed entertainment, a 7,000 square-foot park on Douglas Street, a half-pipe in the middle of the street, and a family-friendly beer garden.

Initial plans look for more growth for this year.
