Police are asking the public's assistance in locating one of the leading suspects in a drive-by shooting Tuesday evening in Sooke that left two men with gunshot wounds.

The suspect  is identified as Joshua Nicholas Lafleur, 25, described as white, 6'0 tall, 190 lbs., and is still believed to be armed.

Police are hunting for Lafleur and two other suspects, who were last seen in a grey sedan with Saskatchewan licence plate 404 JZB. The vehicle, originally from Langford, was reported stolen.

Sooke RCMP responded after a complaint of shots fired around 9:15 p.m. on Ella Road, a residential street.

Two men, both aged 20 and Sooke residents, were found at the roadside with gunshot wounds and were rushed to Victoria General Hospital. One of the victims, who had a wound to his bicep, was released on Wednesday, while the other, who received a shot in the torso, remains in hospital and in stable condition.

Three suspects in a grey sedan were seen by witnesses fleeing the scene, and now police are asking for the public’s help in locating that vehicle which was reported stolen from Langford.

The suspect vehicle is a 2003 KIA Magentis, with Saskatchewan plates.
