VicPD search for assailant after stabbed man found in busy intersection

The Victoria Police Department is seeking information from the public about a stabbing that occurred on Saturday, Jan. 15.

Shortly before 9 p.m. that day, patrol officers arrived at the intersection of Douglas Street and Hillside Avenue following reports of a bleeding man standing in traffic. Police determined the man had been stabbed, but did not release any description of the suspect.

Officers and paramedics treated the victim for several wounds that were considered life-threatening prior to his transportation to hospital. The man is now in stable condition, according to police.

VicPD is working to identify a suspect and continues to monitor the risk to the public, it stated in a news release.
