LETTER: Council should stick to Victoria issues

Once again, we see Victoria city council stepping out of their elected mandate to run the city by offering $9,500 of taxpayers’ money to help fight an appeal of Quebec’s Bill 21.

Once again, we see Victoria city council stepping out of their elected mandate to run the city by offering $9,500 of taxpayers’ money to help fight an appeal of Quebec’s Bill 21.

Just what does the running of the city of Victoria have to do with Quebec? The present mayor and council have continued to spend time and taxpayer money on items and issues that are well beyond their elected mandate.

Stick to running the city, rather than spending time and money on pet projects and issues that are well beyond the scope of responsibilities. The City of Victoria deserves better, and most of the old administration has to be replaced. They have continued to demonstrate that they are just not up to the job.
