Landfill article lacked solutions
Re: Trash talk (News, Feb. 18)
I was very disappointed to see you gave a thorough account of the problems and very little towards helping the consumer be part of the solutions. How could you not include at least a sidebar indicating what people should do with the common things of which we need to dispose? At the very least, include a link to the CRD’s waste management page.
I think many people want to do the right thing. But it’s so hard to understand where you’re supposed to go with the things you need to get rid of – and often quickly.
Make it easy for people and be amazed at how much the problems you described so well would lessen.
I plan to copy this message to the CRD. But please – responsible journalism in a community paper absolutely called for that sidebar!
