Letters to the Editor

Kudos to our firefighters

This time of year we remain very proud of our firefighters. They continue to imbue the community with the true spirit of Christmas by including a nativity scene along with their holiday decorations.

In addition, we would like to comment on one of your readers’ letters, sent quite a while ago, criticizing the department for always being out washing their equipment, “wasting water.”

How else can they ensure their hoses and pumps work properly unless they test them? We are reassured that their vehicles, regularly cleaned and maintained, will be able to deal with emergencies if and when we need them.

Again, well done, we are proud of our fire department. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
