The Saanich Braves make the short trip up Saanich Road to Panorama Recreation Centre on Friday (Sept. 16) to play the reigning B.C. champion Peninsula Panthers.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers (1-2) edged the Braves (1-1-1) in a mid-week meetup on Wednesday, 4-3 in overtime. Cole Peterson scored the game winner with 97 seconds left in OT.

Nick Vanstone scored two for Saanich and rookie forward Connor Krupa scored his first junior-B goal. Scoring during regulation for Peninsula was Dane Gibson with two and Cody Allison with the other.

The Braves split their first two games, bouncing back from a 7-6 loss to the Kerry Park Islanders on Friday (Sept. 9) with a 4-2 win over the Oceanside Generals on Saturday (Sept. 10).

Peninsula started slow, as the league champions from the past two seasons lost its first two games, 5-2 and 3-1 to the Comox Valley Glaciers.

Peninsula continues the weekend
