Royals bounce back over Tigers
Score it Emerson Etem four, Victoria Royals five.
The Victoria Royals overcame a superhuman, four-point effort by Etem on Friday to win 5-4 at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
Captain Hayden Rintoul had a four-point night, including scoring the winning goal with 24 seconds left. Rintoul had two goals and two assists, while Robin Soudek continued his strong play for the Royals with a goal and an assist.
Etem, a highly-touted Anaheim Ducks' prospect out of Long Beach, Calif., added three goals on Friday to the two he scored on Thursday. He now leads the WHL with 11.
Kevin Sundher moved to second in WHL scoring with his four assists (2 goals, 13 points).
The Tigers leave Victoria with a split, having bettered the Royals 4-2 on Thursday night.
Next for the Royals is a Saturday night tilt in Seattle against the Thunderbirds.
