The Victoria Royals managed just one point in the standings, losing to the Kelowna Rockets in a 4-3 shootout on Saturday, and a 5-2 loss on Friday.

Scoring for the Royals on Saturday was captain Hayden Rintoul, Mike Forsyth and Brandon Magee. Rockets defenceman Myles Bell scored the only shootout goal.

Rintoul and Jamie Crooks scored for the Royals on Friday.

The losses put the Royals eighth in the Western conference standings, holding the final playoff spot with a three point advantage over the Prince George Cougars. The Cougars own three games in hand on the Royals but are slumping with four straight losses.

Next up for the Royals is a seven game road trip through the prairies, Regina, Brandon, Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert and Saskatoon.

The Kamloops Blazers visit Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Jan. 28 and 28.
