Atrium design garners award for Victoria firm

D'Ambrosio Architecture captures yet another award for B.C. Ferries building

D’Ambrosio Architecture + Urbanism is the latest firm to win an award for work on the Atrium Building at 800 Yates St.

The Victoria company recently won the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada’s 2013 Award of Excellence in the Green Building category.

The Jawl Properties development, tenanted by B.C. Ferries and various retail outlets at ground level, received a gold rating last year by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Canada. It has collected nine other awards since 2010, for everything from the use of wood to construction excellence.
