Esquimalt businesses will be starring in an upcoming business fair, spearheaded by the Esquimalt Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber, which has 104 members from throughout Greater Victoria, last organized a commerce fair in 2004, but this time the event will have a more festive air, complete with musicians and door prizes.
“The chamber has designed this day to increase awareness and visibility of Esquimalt as a viable business centre, and showcase all that our local business community has to offer,” Tania Dyck, chamber administrative assistant, wrote in a release.
Residents are invited to attend for free to peruse a number of Esquimalt industries, retail outlets and home-based businesses. The event includes a hiring fair – Seaspan Maritime Corporation and a number of other companies will participate.
The event is a unique opportunity for business owners to network with one another, Dyck said.
Businesses must register for a booth by Sept. 15. Cost is $100 for chamber members and $150 for non-members. The business fair happens Sept. 24, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, 1151 Esquimalt Rd. For info, call 250-590-2125 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
