Tire round up rolls into town

People with old passenger and light truck tires can bring them in for recycling this weekend.

The Tire Round-Sup program, by the Tire Stewardship of B.C., collects approximately 40,000 tonnes of scrap tires each year and turns them into products such as crumb rubber and coloured mulch, used for playground surfaces, turf fields and other uses.

The Round-Up happens from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14 at Tires Unlimited, 616 Gorge Road East.
