Votes are being collected to decide Greater Victoria's most child-friendly services, businesses, workplaces and parks.
Success by 6 Victoria is launching its Early Years Awards Survey, which helps provide information to parents, educators and the community.
The survey runs until March 15, at www.earlyyearsawards.com. Respondents are entered to win prizes including a hotel stay and a caving expedition.
"How we deal with early childhood development in our community is extremely important," said Jan White, program manager for Success by 6 Victoria. "This is underscored by the fact that 29 per cent of the children in our province are not adequately prepared to start kindergarten."
A celebration and awards ceremony on April 13 will present the results.
