Window decorating is back this year in James Bay for Window Wanderland, an artful community event that turns the streets into a dazzling neighbourhood art gallery.

Illuminated from inside the home, these windows feature colourful and creative designs made from supplies like tissue and construction paper, and are created by residents themselves.

“Anyone can make a display in the windows of their homes, apartments, businesses, high rises, and even their cars,” said Samantha Bartlett, recreation program coordinator at the James Bay Community School Centre.

Funded through the celebration grant from the City of Victoria, the event is able to take place for the fourth time and is set to run from Feb. 25 to 27 from 6 to 9 p.m.

During that time, residents will walk the neighbourhood streets after dark to admire a variety of illuminated creations.

Residents are asked to register their windows so that their works can be added to a map for those wandering the neighbourhood gallery.
